A new "digital traveler" visa subtype will appear in Azerbaijan
In Azerbaijan, the establishment of a new visa subtype "digital traveler" is envisaged.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this is reflected in the "State Program for Tourism Development for 2026-2030" approved today by President Ilham Aliyev.
In addition, the Program provides for the improvement of mechanisms for coordinating air passenger transportation policy and tourism policy, increasing the number of countries with visa-free travel arrangements to stimulate inbound tourism from target tourist markets (ensuring the application of visa-free travel for citizens of 34 target tourist countries on the basis of a regular passport), improving the process of issuing multiple-entry electronic visas for inbound tourism purposes, increasing the number of countries to which the electronic visa regime (including visa on arrival) applies for inbound tourism purposes, and improving coordination mechanisms to ensure an increased contribution of tourism policy to the country's socio-economic development and mutual coordination with development policies of related economic sectors.
Furthermore, the objectives of the Program include improving the mechanism for maintaining the registry of tourism industry entities and improving the classification of tourism industry entities.
