Media representatives familiarized themselves with the work being carried out on the territory of the Baku Olympic Stadium in connection with the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) on the theme "Housing for All: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements."

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, media representatives first visited the accreditation center.

Executive Director of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company Adil Mammadov noted that the event venue, including the Baku Olympic Stadium and the overall operational coverage zone formed around it, covers 53 hectares. Of these, 43 hectares are planned as the main event venue, and 10 hectares as the main transport terminal, parking, and transfer zone.

The stadium is divided into corresponding zones. Zone A consists of 5 streets, each named after various cities of Azerbaijan. Special zones have been allocated for high-ranking guests and delegations. Special areas are provided here for receiving heads of states and governments, holding bilateral meetings, as well as rest and dining zones.

The event hall, where the opening and closing ceremonies will be held, will be able to accommodate up to 6,000 participants. The current level of preparation allows for proper planning of the high flow of forum participants, numerous parallel events, and receptions of international delegations. The zone where the main discussions and parallel events of the forum will take place covers an area of 3.55 hectares and is designated for meeting halls, thematic sessions, UN events, parallel meetings, and bilateral negotiations. Conditions have been created here for the simultaneous holding of official and working meetings of various formats.

Journalists were informed that approximately 300 parallel sessions, meetings, and events are planned to be held daily during the forum.

It was noted that at the event, along with the 6 official UN languages — Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish — simultaneous interpretation into Azerbaijani and Turkish will be provided. International sign language interpretation services are available for persons with disabilities.

More than 35 catering points are provided throughout the entire event venue. Their placement indoors and in open-air zones allows distributing the flow of participants in different directions and ensuring accessibility of services across the entire site. It is noted that price controls will be implemented in cafés and restaurants at the WUF13 venue.

Also, in a zone covering 2 hectares, alongside the "Media Center," "Roundtable," "Special Session," and "Dialogue" halls have been set up. The "Media Center" features a working area, rooms for live broadcasts and interviews, a press conference hall, television studios, and a rest zone for media representatives.

The total capacity of the "Media Center" is 600 people.

To ensure uninterrupted internet, broadcasting, and digital operation needs of the event, primary and backup data centers, extensive fiber-optic and internal network infrastructure, wireless network equipment, and a continuously operating operations center have been established.
