Father of 17-year-old Afsana shared details about the tragedy

Father of 17-year-old pregnant Afsana Imanova, who died after her wedding, spoke about what happened.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Bizim.Media, the girl's father, Magsud Imanov, admitted that he learned about his daughter's pregnancy only on the wedding day: "My daughter and her fiancé were engaged for about eight to nine months. I didn't know she was pregnant. When we went to the hospital on the wedding day, it turned out that she was seven months pregnant. Until then, we hadn't noticed anything."

When asked why his daughter was married off so early, the man replied that she was three months away from coming of age.

The girl's father-in-law, Agil Jevziev, expressed deep regret about what happened: "This is a terrible tragedy, we are in shock. My son is 22 years old, they were engaged for eight months. We learned about Afsana's pregnancy a week before the wedding, but we didn't know that she was already seven months along. The invitations had been distributed, and we decided to hold the wedding to avoid disgrace."

According to Jevziev, the day before the wedding, Afsana, while at her parents' house, caught a slight cold, but no serious health problems were observed: "On the wedding day, she felt normal. At around five in the evening, the bride was brought to the house. After some time, my son called and said that she had fallen ill. We immediately called an ambulance and took her to the hospital."

He also refuted information that appeared in the media about the young couple working in greenhouses in Baku: "This is not true. They never left the village, they always lived here."

The investigation into the tragedy continues at the prosecutor's office of the Astara district.
