In order to inform the public about the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), an awareness session was held on May 6 at Mingachevir State University with the participation of faculty members and students.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the event featured speeches by Head of the Sector of the Mingachevir Executive Authority Etibar Abdullayev, representative of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Ramiz Idrisoglu, and Communications Manager of the Azerbaijan Operating Company of WUF13 Emin Huseynzade.

They spoke about WUF13 and its significance for the country.

E. Abdullayev presented information about the history of Mingachevir, its development, and its master plan.

R. Idrisoglu, speaking about Azerbaijan's development, noted that a systematic approach lies at the foundation of the planned development of cities. According to him, the focus is on people, social well-being, and territorial balance. He added that modern urban planning policy is based on legislation and approved development plans for cities and villages. To date, master plans have been approved for 67 out of 79 cities in the country, and work on the remaining ones is ongoing.

E. Huseynzade invited young people to participate in WUF13. He spoke in detail about the WUF13 Festival and emphasized the significance of the forum for Azerbaijan, as well as highlighted the main events within its framework that are of interest to young people.

The Festival will continue at 18:00 with a public program. Within its framework, topics of sustainable urban development, inclusive environments, and innovative solutions will be presented.
