These products will be exempt from taxes in Azerbaijan

"The use of fertilizers is of great importance from the perspective of dynamic agricultural development and increasing productivity. According to current legislation, only the import and sale of mineral fertilizers are exempt from VAT."

This was reported to BAKU.WS by the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.

It was noted that there are plans to exempt the import and sale of organomineral fertilizers from VAT in order to increase the availability of fertilizers for agricultural producers, strengthen the provision of environmentally friendly agricultural products to the population, and involve the processing of raw materials that are discarded into the environment as waste:

"Thus, starting from 2026, the import and sale of organic and organo-mineral fertilizers, along with mineral fertilizers, will not be subject to VAT.

As a result of these changes, it is expected that the expenses of agricultural producers will decrease, which, in turn, will affect final consumer prices. At the same time, the population's access to environmentally friendly and quality agricultural products will increase, and the development and sustainability of the sector will be strengthened," the statement says.
