Social payments expected to increase in Azerbaijan

Since the beginning of 2025, Azerbaijan has seen an increase in various benefits and pensions due to the increase in the minimum wage in the country. One of such payments was the scholarship for individuals involved in professional training.
As BAKU.WS reports with reference to Oxu.Az, this was stated in a Facebook publication by Vugar Bayramov, member of the Milli Mejlis committee on economic policy, industry and entrepreneurship.

"According to the Law 'On Employment', individuals involved in professional training in Azerbaijan receive a scholarship amounting to 50% of the minimum wage. Since January 2025, the minimum wage was increased from 325 to 400 manats, which led to an increase in this scholarship as well. While previously the monthly payment was 162.5 manats, now it has increased to 200 manats, representing a 14% increase.
Additionally, the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan is currently preparing proposals to increase several other benefits and pensions. These are expected to be presented to the head of state in the second half of this month. Thus, other social payments in the country are expected to increase in the near future," the publication states.
