Omer Bulut: Housing is a key factor in the fight against poverty
Housing serves as a fundamental component of safe existence, strengthening family values, obtaining education and employment, involvement in social processes, and breaking the vicious cycle of poverty.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this statement was made by Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of Turkey Ömer Bulut during a panel discussion entitled "Housing for Social Inclusiveness and Poverty Eradication," which was held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.
"For this reason, we must evaluate adequate housing in conjunction with security of tenure guarantees, affordability, building construction quality, provision of clean water, energy resources, transport accessibility, availability of educational institutions, healthcare services, employment opportunities, and the creation of a complete living environment," the deputy minister emphasized.
As Ö. Bulut noted, Turkey perceives the housing issue as one of the central elements of social inclusiveness, social cohesion, as well as sustainable development taking into account adaptation to climate change.
