Mikail Jabbarov: The opening of the Zangezur corridor will make a significant contribution to the faster development of Nakhchivan

The opening of the Zangezur corridor contributes to the growth of Nakhchivan's economic potential.

As reported by Oxu.Az, this was stated by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov at an event held on the topic "Entrepreneurship Development - Strong Economy."

He emphasized that Nakhchivan's share in the country's economy is growing.

"It is forecast that this trend will accelerate even further in the coming years. The opening of the Zangezur corridor will make a significant contribution to the faster development of Nakhchivan. Growth in Nakhchivan's economic potential and strengthening of its role in the country's economy are expected. We believe that the opening of the Zangezur corridor will definitely have a positive impact in this direction," he said.

The minister also noted that economic diversification forms the basis of our strategic goals, and the non-oil and gas sector has already become the main driver of economic growth.

"As a result of the targeted economic policy being pursued, important results have been achieved in the direction of diversification in Azerbaijan's economy. The share of the non-oil and gas sector in GDP has increased significantly," the minister noted.
