According to the proposed changes to the "Labor Code," when paying for work on weekends, voting days, non-working holidays, and national days of mourning, not only the daily but also the hourly rate will be taken into account.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was written on social media by Member of Parliament Vugar Bayramov.

He noted that on these days, under a time-based payment system, double daily and hourly rates will be paid, while under a piece-rate system - double piece-rate prices. Employees with monthly salaries, if the work is performed within the monthly work time norm, will receive, in addition to their salary, at least the daily and hourly position rate, and if the work is performed beyond the monthly work time norm - at least double the daily and hourly position rate:

"Adding the hourly position rate to the Code was important in terms of protecting workers' labor rights and providing them with higher pay. In some cases, working hours on these days do not cover a full working day, but certain hours. The new change will create conditions for paying workers additional compensation for each hour in practice. If an employee's hourly rate is 25 manats, and they continued to work on weekends, voting days, non-working holidays, and national days of mourning and worked an additional 3 hours, they will be credited not 75 manats for these hours, but at least 150 manats. On the other hand, considering the discussion of transitioning to an hourly work regime in Azerbaijan, this will allow bringing labor compensation in line with international standards."
