Azerbaijan and Côte d'Ivoire discussed energy cooperation
Azerbaijan and Côte d'Ivoire discussed prospects for energy cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in the oil and gas sector.
As reported to BAKU.WS by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the discussions took place during the visit of SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf to Abidjan.
As part of the visit, the delegation, consisting of representatives of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SOCAR, held a series of meetings with high-ranking officials from Côte d'Ivoire's foreign policy department and energy sector.
Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Deputy Minister Yalchin Rafiyev and ministry staff.
During the meetings, a broad exchange of views took place on the issue of SOCAR's acquisition of a 10% stake in the Baleine oil and gas field development project, including project development phases, production capacities, logistics, and commercial matters.
The strategic importance of the project was emphasized in terms of expanding SOCAR's geographical footprint in Africa and strengthening its position in international energy markets.
