Today Alim Gasimov celebrates his birthday

Today is the birthday of the People's Artist of Azerbaijan, singer Alim Gasimov.

He was born in 1957 in the city of Shamakha. He received his education at the Asaf Zeynalli Baku Music College, and later at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts.

The mugham performer's first appearance was in 1979 on national television. Alim Gasimov's creative biography is rich with participation in many international festivals, as well as concerts in America, Europe, and Asia. Between 1989-2001, more than 10 albums by Alim Gasimov were released in Europe. In 1999, the album "Love of the Deep Ocean" was presented, which gained great popularity in Europe, as well as a documentary film about the Azerbaijani performer, produced by UNESCO. In the same year, A. Gasimov was awarded the UNESCO IMC International Music Prize.

The living legend is a participant in the famous "Great Silk Road" project, as well as a member of the "Silk Road" ensemble, consisting of the world's best musicians.
