The West plans a coup in Iran: secret discussions about the region

American and European diplomats are conducting closed consultations on the issue of possible regime change in the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to CBS News, the discussion concerns potential candidates for the position of the country's new supreme leader.
According to the channel's sources, the key topic of negotiations was the succession of power after the possible departure of 86-year-old Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has held the position of Iran's leader since 1989. His health raises doubts among Western analysts, which increases concerns about the future stability of the country.
The negotiations discuss potential risks associated with Iran's nuclear program, the security of nuclear facilities in conditions of political instability, as well as the consequences of possible military strikes. Special attention is paid to the impact of regime change in Tehran on the situation in the Middle East and relations with Western allies.
The context of the consultations was the recent escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran, which began on the night of June 13 with an Israeli military operation, to which Tehran responded with strikes within 24 hours. In the following days, the sides exchanged a series of attacks, leading to casualties and destruction.
Against the backdrop of the escalating conflict, some Israeli politicians, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have threatened to physically eliminate Khamenei. However, according to media reports, US President Donald Trump vetoed a possible Israeli plan to eliminate the Iranian leader.
