Well-known performer Navai (Navai Bakirov), arrested in Kazakhstan, has begun composing new tracks while being held in a pretrial detention facility in the city of Taraz.

This was reported to the TengriNews portal by the artist's lawyer Rena Kerimova.

According to the defense attorney, the singer is feeling fine, has no complaints about the conditions of detention, food, or sleep, and maintains a cheerful mood. During a hours-long conversation with the lawyer, the musician said that inspiration has not left him even in the detention facility, where he has started working on new material.

"He feels great. We spent many hours talking yesterday. Such a simple guy, absolutely not a diva, respectful, talented. He even said that he has already started writing songs in the pretrial detention center," the lawyer said.

R. Kerimova clarified that the artist is awaiting the hearing of his appeal next week. The defense is seeking to change the preventive measure to bail. The difficulty lies in the fact that the artist is a foreign national, which increases procedural risks.

In addition, the lawyer denied rumors of multiple charges, emphasizing that Navai is charged with only one article — drug smuggling.
