Five earthquakes occurred in Russia in less than an hour
In the Kamchatka region of the Russian Federation, five earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 4.8 to 5.3 occurred within 45 minutes, reports the Telegram channel of the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The first earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 was recorded 140 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a depth of 47 km. The second, with a magnitude of 5.2, occurred 177 km southeast of the city at a depth of 40 km. The third earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 was registered 167 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a depth of 16.6 km. Two more tremors with a magnitude of 4.8 occurred at distances of 173 and 198 km from the city, with epicenters at depths of 32.7 and 43.6 km respectively.
There are no reports of casualties or destruction, and no tsunami warning was issued.
