Two types of drinks that should not be consumed in hot weather have been named
Doctors warned about the danger of popular drinks in hot weather.
As reported by BAKU.WS citing foreign press, in hot weather the consumption of coffee and sugary drinks can accelerate dehydration and increase the likelihood of developing hypertension. Specialists shared this information with the publication Takeout.
Medical professionals explain that caffeine has a diuretic effect, albeit a minor one, but in high-temperature conditions it contributes to faster fluid loss. This can increase the risk of overheating, lead to heatstroke, fainting, and even seizures.
In addition, experts recommend limiting the consumption of alcohol, as well as drinks with high sugar and sodium content, including sports and energy drinks. According to American specialists, alcohol additionally promotes fluid excretion, while excess sugar and salt force the body to use water for their processing and elimination, which also exacerbates dehydration. Ultimately, this can trigger spikes in blood pressure and other negative health consequences.
The safest option in hot weather, according to specialists, is plain drinking water. At the same time, as experts note, the temperature of the beverage is not of fundamental importance, since the body adjusts it to its internal level regardless. Doctors advise drinking water regularly without waiting for pronounced thirst to appear.
