The doctor warned why it is dangerous to "get used to" anxiety
Refusing help during a psychological crisis is often related not to stubbornness, but to the peculiarities of perceiving one's own condition. A person may not realize the severity of the problem, especially if anxiety, insomnia, or depression developed gradually.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to "Gazeta.Ru," psychiatrist-narcologist Maria Kasperovich notes that the reason for refusal may also be fear of seeing a specialist, shame, and fear of judgment. With addictions, a person often believes they are fully in control of the situation.
According to the doctor, pressure from relatives usually only increases resistance. Instead of accusations, the specialist recommends talking about specific changes: for example, noting sleep problems or deterioration in well-being.
It is worth seeking help if anxiety, insomnia, depression, or alcohol consumption begin to interfere with work, daily life, and relationships.
