The doctor explained who vitally needs flu vaccination
Flu vaccination is of vital importance for people with chronic diseases and elderly citizens, stated the chief freelance specialist in primary health care for the adult population of the Moscow Health Department Andrey Tyazhelnikov.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to News.Mail.ru, according to him, these categories of the population are most at risk of complications after having the flu. "For people with chronic diseases and especially for the elderly, vaccination is not just a safe procedure, but a vitally necessary protective measure," emphasized Tyazhelnikov during a press conference devoted to vaccination issues.
He also noted that vaccination to a certain extent serves as prevention of non-infectious diseases. According to him, it is important to perceive vaccination as part of a long-term approach to maintaining health: by getting it today, a person protects themselves not only from the flu itself, but also from possible complications that the disease can cause.
