Astronomers reported a powerful explosion on the side of the Sun hidden from Earth

An extremely powerful double explosion was recorded on the far side of the Sun last night.

This was reported by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to scientists, it is impossible to directly observe what is happening now, since there is no spacecraft on that side of the Sun. In this regard, specialists can only assume the scale and nature of what happened, noting that they did not previously expect such high activity in this sector of the star.

The laboratory clarified that three planets - Venus, Mercury and Mars - are still visually observed near the Sun. At the same time, it creates an optical impression that the solar plasma ejection is directed towards Venus and Mercury. In fact, these planets are far behind the Sun, on the opposite side from Earth, and the ejected plasma clouds went away from their orbits.

Astronomers also noted that if the sources of this activity persist for a few more days, then as the Sun rotates, they may end up in the zone of direct visibility from Earth. In this case, the active regions will become visible on the left edge of the solar disk.
