A new useful button has appeared in WhatsApp

A new feature called Quick Recap has appeared in the beta version of WhatsApp messenger for Android, designed to create brief summaries of conversations. This feature will allow users to quickly familiarize themselves with the essence of missed messages without scrolling through long dialogues. This is reported by the WABetaInfo (WBI) portal.

The new button, located in the "Chats" tab, will allow users to select up to five dialogues and receive a condensed summary for them. Artificial intelligence (AI) will analyze unread messages and present them as a brief summary, which will significantly save users' time.

It is noted that this feature will be completely optional and disabled by default. To activate it, the user will need to manually enable it in the application settings.

The developers have paid special attention to privacy. Data processing will be carried out using Private Processing technology, which guarantees that neither WhatsApp nor the parent company Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) will be able to access the content of personal messages or generated summaries. All data will be processed in encrypted form in an isolated environment.

It is known that the feature will not work with chats protected by Advanced Chat Privacy.

Currently, the feature is under development and will become available to all users in one of the future updates. However, it can already be tested by installing the beta version of the messenger with build number 2.25.21.12.
