Doctor Pravin Sharma from the Birmingham University School of Dentistry stated that many people make one common mistake when brushing their teeth.

As reported by BAKU.WS, his words were cited by La Prensa Grafica publication.

The dentist identified rinsing the mouth with water after brushing teeth as one of the most common mistakes. According to him, it's better to just spit out excess toothpaste, but not wash away its remaining residue completely.

The fact is that toothpastes contain substances beneficial for teeth, including fluoride, the doctor clarified. If you rinse your mouth, these substances will be washed away and, consequently, will stop working. At the same time, if you don't use water after brushing, your teeth will remain protected for a long time, concluded the doctor.
