VI Islamic Games: Azerbaijani athletes will compete in five sports today

Today at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games taking place in Riyadh, Azerbaijani athletes will compete in five sports.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, swimmers Said Hamidov, Yegor Maynitsky, Abdurrahman Rustamov, Ramil Velizade, Rashad Alguliev, Fatima Alkeremova, Suleyman Ismayilzade, Ogtay Huseynov, Vlastilina Khasyanova, Mehri Abdurahmanli, Anastasia Boborykina, as well as a mixed team of girls and boys will demonstrate their skills.

In individual table tennis competitions, Hilal Hasanov and Onur Guluzade will compete among men, while Marzia Nurmatova and Zemfira Mikailova will compete among women.

Weightlifter Rahila Huseynzade (86 kg) will take part in the final stage.

Also, Azerbaijani Muay Thai fighters will begin their performances in the competitions. Khayal Aliyev (60-65 kg) and Salahaddin Gojazade (65-70 kg) will fight for the title of winner.

In addition, karate fighters Roman Heydarov, Turgut Hasanov, and Fatima Jabrailova will enter the competition.

Note that the Islamic Games will end on November 21. Representatives of Azerbaijan have currently won 29 medals (4 gold, 9 silver, 16 bronze) and rank sixth in the medal standings.
