Farid Gaibov: Wrestling is one of the traditional and important sports in Azerbaijan

Wrestling is one of the traditional and important sports in Azerbaijan.

This was said by the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gaibov at the opening of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Championship.

He stated that wrestling in the country is developing:

"Wrestling is our traditional sport, which has been repeatedly emphasized by the head of state. Our athletes always please us with their medals at European and World Championships. And it all starts with the Azerbaijan Championship.

I am confident that at this championship we will learn the names of new stars. Our athletes have prepared seriously, and interesting matches await us," the minister noted.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Wrestling Championship will last until January 11.
