Azerbaijani athletes will perform today in 4 disciplines at the Islamic Games

Today Azerbaijani athletes will compete in four disciplines at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, athlete Nazim Babayev will compete in long jump, Lamiya Veliyeva - in the 200 meters race, and the mixed team - in the 4x400 meters relay.

Ilyas Babayev (85 kg), Najmaddin Guluzade (69 kg) and Firdovsi Zamanov (94 kg) will compete in jiu-jitsu competitions.

In fencing, both men's and women's teams will compete in both épée and sabre.

From freestyle wrestlers, Islam Bazarganov (57 kg), Ali Rahimzade (65 kg), and from women wrestlers - Ruzanna Mamedova (62 kg), Nigar Mirzazade (68 kg) and Zahra Kerimzade (76 kg) will take to the mat.

Azerbaijan is ranked 10th with 50 medals (7 gold, 16 silver, 27 bronze).

Note that the Islamic Games will conclude on November 21.
