Azerbaijani athletes will participate in 4 disciplines at the Islamic Games

Today, Azerbaijani athletes will compete in 4 disciplines at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, Togrul Mammadli will compete in the final stage of the duathlon competition.

Azerbaijan's women's handball team will play its first match at the Islamic Games against the Uzbekistan team. The match in group B will begin at 15:00 Baku time.

Elchin Eminov (60 kg) and Hamza Rasulzade (70 kg) will compete in the 1/16 finals of the wushu competition, while Khalida Mirzoeva (56 kg) will compete in the quarterfinals.

Azerbaijani taekwondo athletes Javad Agayev (74 kg) and Bahruz Guluzade (54 kg) will compete in the 1/16 finals, and Minaya Akbarova (46 kg) in the quarterfinals.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan team ranks 7th in the medal count, having won 39 medals (5 gold, 13 silver, 21 bronze).

The Islamic Games will end on November 21.
