The Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General conducted an operation to suppress gambling organization.

According to Qafqazinfo, Yusif Bagiev (Shekinsky), known in the country as the "king of gambling," was detained during the operations.

He was initially charged under Articles 193-1.3.1 (legalization of criminally obtained property committed by an organized group or criminal organization) and 244-1.4 (organizing or conducting gambling games with receiving income on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

These articles provide for punishment by imprisonment for up to 12 years.

By the decision of the Binagadi District Court, Yusif Bagiev was detained for 4 months as a preventive measure. Additional information about the details of the criminal case against Y.Bagiev, who is accused of serious crimes, has not been provided.
