Easter is one of the most significant and brightest holidays in the Christian tradition.

As Oxu.Az reports, this year it has acquired special symbolism: Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants celebrate the Resurrection of Christ on the same day - April 20. Such a coincidence doesn't happen often: since the beginning of the 21st century, this is only the seventh occurrence. The last time the holiday coincided in dates was in 2017.

Easter is dedicated to an event that Christians consider central to their faith - the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after crucifixion. This day symbolizes hope, renewal and the victory of life over death, light over darkness, good over evil.

Interestingly, Easter is historically connected with the ancient Jewish holiday of Pesach. This is reflected in language as well: in most languages of the world, the words "Easter" and "Pesach" sound similar or even share the same root.

Over time, the holiday has accumulated many traditions, including the Easter bunny, colored eggs, spring games and festivals. These elements have long become part of world culture and go beyond religious practice, uniting people of various viewpoints.

In Azerbaijan, as in other countries, Christians celebrate Easter with family and friends, participate in festive church services, and remember the values of love, kindness and renewal.
