Azerbaijan Introduces New Ban Related to Hotels
The State Tourism Agency, together with the State Advertising Agency, is launching monitoring of advertising billboards at hotels and other accommodation facilities in the regions.
According to the State Tourism Agency's statement, the relevant agreement was reached at a meeting between the leadership of the two agencies.
The first stage of inspections will cover more than 160 facilities in Ganja, Goygol, Sheki, Gabala, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, and Khankendi.
It was noted that some hotels provide services without the necessary certificate, while certain establishments that do not meet the requirements of the "Tourism Law" illegally use the name "hotel," misleading consumers.
Following the discussions, it was decided to prohibit outdoor advertising of hotels and accommodation facilities with incorrect star category ratings. To obtain permission for advertising placement, hotel owners must provide confirming certificates to the State Advertising Agency.
