Attention to users of Baku-Sumgayit trains: starting tomorrow...

Starting tomorrow, a new train schedule comes into effect on the Absheron ring railway line.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), the innovation is aimed at optimizing passenger flow.
According to the updated schedule, the number of trips on the Baku - Pirshagi - Sumgayit and Baku - Khirdalan - Sumgayit routes has been increased, and the intervals between trains, especially during the daytime, have been reduced. For high-speed trains, three separate schedules are provided: for working days, Saturdays, and Sundays. In total, 61 additional trips per week are being added to the line.
On working days, the number of trips on the Baku - Khirdalan - Sumgayit - Baku route increases from 24 to 36, and on the Baku - Pirshagi - Sumgayit - Baku route - from 42 to 56. At the request of passengers, a new evening trip at 20:20 has been introduced on the Baku - Khirdalan - Sumgayit route (previously the last train departed at 19:35). This will expand opportunities for passengers, reduce the load on routes, and decrease travel time.
The morning schedule has also been optimized. The train that previously departed from Sumgayit at 07:20 and arrived in Baku at 08:01 will now depart at 06:15 and arrive at 06:56. Also, the new FLIRT train, running directly from Khirdalan to Baku, will arrive at 07:15, which is especially convenient for passengers with work starting at 8 am. Additionally, morning express trains will now make stops at Balajary and Khirdalan stations.
On Saturday, the number of trips on the Baku - Khirdalan - Sumgayit - Baku route has been increased from 10 to 16, and on the Baku - Pirshagi - Sumgayit - Baku route - from 20 to 36. On Sunday, the number of trips in these directions will increase to 15 and 28 respectively.
As a result of the changes, the daily passenger flow on the line will increase from 37-38 thousand to 48-50 thousand people. It is expected that the new schedule will significantly improve the quality of suburban transportation in Baku and nearby areas.
