Alarming update: Windows 11 may deprive users of all data

After removing the bypassnro.cmd script in Windows 11, users faced a serious problem - forced disk encryption using BitLocker, which creates a real threat of losing all data.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the alarming information was published by the technology portal Neowin.

In the latest operating system update, the BitLocker encryption mechanism is automatically enabled not only in corporate but also in home versions of Windows 11 24H2. Experts warn that this can significantly reduce disk performance and greatly increase the risk of irreversible data loss.

Of particular concern is the fact that Microsoft activates BitLocker when logging into an account without any notifications. As a result, users who have not created backups of encryption keys risk permanently losing access to their files.

A heated discussion erupted in the Reddit community after one user warned that the lack of notifications from Microsoft creates critical risks, and BitLocker-related failures are becoming more frequent. Hundreds of commenters confirmed growing anxiety among Windows 11 computer owners.

At present, Microsoft has published an official guide for backing up and recovering BitLocker keys, which is strongly recommended to save in case of unforeseen situations. Users can also manually disable encryption through the registry or use Windows 11 24H2 settings to manage BitLocker parameters.

It was previously reported that Huawei plans to completely abandon Windows in favor of its own operating system.
