Famous singer strangled to death in a nursing home

Famous Spanish actress and singer Encarnita Polo was strangled in one of the nursing homes in Spain.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to El Caso, according to preliminary data from the national police, 86-year-old Polo became a victim of another resident of the nursing home in Avila. Currently, law enforcement officers are investigating all the circumstances of the incident.

The alleged attacker is an 80-year-old man who had not previously shown aggressive behavior. He is currently in a psychiatric ward.

"For many, she was a vibrant singer and actress, one of the first in the flamenco-pop genre, whose work influenced several generations. But for me, she was primarily a mother - a strong, cheerful woman with a special character," her daughter Raquel Weitzman Polo told journalists.

Encarnita Polo was one of the stars of Spanish pop music in the 1960s-1970s and became famous thanks to the hit "Paco, Paco, Paco". In recent years, she had been living in seclusion and was undergoing treatment for cancer.
