Vance in Yerevan and Baku: two formats - two signals
Last week, U.S. Vice President JD Vance made visits to Armenia and Azerbaijan. They were very different in content and results. Baku's bet on strengthening sovereignty and restoring territorial integrity through its own efforts ensured the further development of the country's international relations from a stronger position, creating the foundation for a strategic partnership with the United States.
This is stated in the latest episode of the Caliber.Az YouTube channel.
"And a sober assessment of the balance of forces in the West allowed the Azerbaijani government to avoid harmful ties with the corrupt liberal elites that the Armenian leadership bet on. However, it is still trying to play on the contradictions between the EU and the USA. Although the issue of the Zangezur corridor can be considered resolved, each event for its assessment needs to be examined in the proper context, related circumstances, and significant details.
As for Vance's visit to the South Caucasus, we are talking not only about the nominal but also the de facto second person in President Donald Trump's team. It is likely that he will assume the presidential position after Trump," the report states.
