President's heartfelt dialogue with Olympic medalist: Are you still competing?!

Are you still competing?! I know you became a world champion among veterans, that's why I asked.

These words were spoken by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during a heartfelt conversation with Olympic bronze medalist Movlud Miraliyev at the ceremony dedicated to sports results of 2025, which took place on December 26.

It is worth reminding that Miraliyev wrote his name in the history of Azerbaijani sports by winning a bronze medal at the XXIX Summer Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.

Then the head of state addressed the Vice President of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation Eduard Mamedov with the words: "Are you still competing too? Are you beating everyone? How many years has it been?" He replied: "More than 30 years".

It should be noted that Eduard Mamedov is a professional kickboxer, 30-time world champion, 11-time European champion, 11-time World Cup winner, 15-time champion of Azerbaijan, champion of Asia and Eurasia, professional world champion, holder of the WAKO intercontinental professional belt.
