President Ilham Aliyev participated in the "Breakfast with the Leadership of Azerbaijan" event in Davos
On January 20, President Ilham Aliyev participated in the "Breakfast with Azerbaijan's Leadership" event in Davos. It was organized by Euronews following the head of state's interview with the TV channel.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the head of state answered questions from business representatives from various countries present at the event.
Moderator: Good morning, your excellencies, ladies and gentlemen!
Welcome to this special event happening this morning: the first Azerbaijani government breakfast in Davos, focused on Azerbaijan's regional prosperity and unlocking its economic potential for the entire region. Today we welcome you, government officials, business leaders, and investors to discuss Azerbaijan's growing role as a regional hub for connectivity projects, energy, and of course economic development. This session will explore regional transport connections, strategic investment priorities, and Azerbaijan's vision for sustainable growth. First of all, I am pleased to invite to the stage the chairman of Euronews, Pedro Vargas David, who will deliver the opening remarks. Welcome, Pedro.
Pedro Vargas: Thank you. Good morning. First of all, let me say that Euronews is very proud to be able to host the first breakfast for Azerbaijan's leadership representatives here in Davos. Azerbaijan is changing at a very rapid pace, and I think that the collaboration between Euronews and Azerbaijan in organizing this event and inviting so many distinguished guests to this hall is a testament to the interest, the desire to discuss, interact with Azerbaijan and view this country as one of the bright stars of the future. In the world we live in today, we need to return to history and remember it. Please accept our condolences for those tragic events.
In 2026, Azerbaijan lives in peace, is a sovereign country that has secured its territorial integrity, strives for development and next steps. Your leadership, Mr. President, is a testament to how a leader can influence the future of his people, how he can ensure peace. I might even suggest that the peace prize should be awarded to you and your colleague from Armenia. I will not go into discussions about this, but I can say with confidence that, in my opinion, you have received the most important peace prize, namely the peace prize from your people; recognition that justice and prosperity are possible, and recognition that establishing peace is possible thanks to your actions. And this is probably more valuable than any gold medal or any other award from any prestigious organization. I was, of course, referring to FIFA.
Mr. President, you lead a proud country, a country confident in its future, and you feel that Azerbaijan is confident in its place in the world. An
