President Ilham Aliyev called the Emir of Qatar

On August 11, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

As reported by AZERTAG, during the telephone conversation, the importance of the recently launched project for the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Syria as a result of joint cooperation between Azerbaijan, Turkey, Qatar and Syria was emphasized, with special note of Qatar's financial support in its implementation.

The significance of the Agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and other documents initialed during President Ilham Aliyev's visit to the United States in ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region was discussed.

The role of US President Donald Trump in achieving these successes was noted. President Ilham Aliyev also emphasized that the reached agreement on unhindered transport communication between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan region will have a positive impact on the cargo handling capacity of the Middle Corridor in the future.

The head of our state thanked the Emir of Qatar for supporting the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his demonstrated leadership in advancing the peace agenda and the historic results achieved.
