OZA condemned the biased statements of the PACE head against Azerbaijan

The Community of Western Azerbaijan strongly condemned the statements made by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Theodoros Rousopoulos in an interview with Alpha News, considering them a manifestation of racial discrimination, slander, and bias against Azerbaijan.

This is stated in the community's declaration.

The document notes that Rousopoulos's crude and irresponsible rhetoric once again demonstrated the moral bankruptcy of PACE. The Assembly remained indifferent to the largest human rights violation in the region - the ethnic cleansing suffered by more than a million Azerbaijanis at the hands of Armenia. PACE's anti-Azerbaijani essence and racist approach toward the people of Azerbaijan became especially evident after the liberation of the occupied territories.

"Rousopoulos and others like him, who are 'saddened' that Azerbaijan ended thirty years of occupation, providing an opportunity for more than 700 thousand forced migrants to return to their homes, who effectively oppose the right of return for hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia - should not represent PACE. This insults the very concept of human rights," the statement emphasizes.
