Leila Abdullayeva sent a letter of protest to the Mayor of Paris

Azerbaijan's Ambassador to France, Leyla Abdullayeva, sent a letter to the Mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Grégoire, regarding the holding of an exhibition dedicated to persons of Armenian nationality convicted of war crimes in Azerbaijan.

She published the letter on her page on the social network X.

"With this letter, I would like to express my deep concern and strong protest regarding the joint initiative of the Paris City Hall and the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF), which envisages the placement on September 2, 2026, in the square in front of the Paris City Hall, of portraits presented as 'portraits of Armenian prisoners held by Azerbaijan.' First of all, I would like to share with you a number of details that I hope will encourage you to better familiarize yourself with the current situation on the ground," she wrote.

The Ambassador emphasized that Karabakh is an integral part of the territory of Azerbaijan, and the country's territorial integrity is recognized by the international community, including France and Armenia. She also recalled the consequences of three decades of conflict and noted that after the restoration of its territorial integrity, Azerbaijan has been carrying out large-scale reconstruction work in Karabakh.
