Kamran Aliyev has been reappointed as Prosecutor General
Today, the Committee on Legal Policy and State Building of the Milli Mejlis considered the issue "On giving consent to the appointment of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
As APA reports, President Ilham Aliyev has again nominated Kamran Aliyev for the position of Prosecutor General.
After discussions, the issue was put to a vote and adopted.
Note that according to Article 16 of the Law "On Prosecutor's Office", the term of office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as territorial and specialized prosecutors is 5 years. Kamran Aliyev was appointed Prosecutor General on May 1, 2020.
According to the Constitution, based on the submission of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Milli Mejlis gives consent to the appointment and dismissal of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
