Iran's Dirty Game with the Hijab: Sahar Azəri Exposed
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) conducted a defamatory campaign against our country on the Azerbaijani-language channel Sahar Azəri using fabricated materials.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, the channel published material claiming that a rally "in support of Azerbaijani women in hijab" was held in the Turkish city of Diyarbakır.
A corresponding video was also added to the news by the channel. However, Sahar Azəri's defamatory campaign has already been exposed: it turned out that the footage has nothing to do with Azerbaijan.
The mentioned footage was indeed shot on October 11 in the Sur district of the city of Diyarbakır. However, this was not a rally of any kind. The procession and event called Niyet ettim Tesettüre, Emrin başım üstüne was organized for girls putting on a headscarf for the first time. As part of the ceremony, a procession was organized and religious slogans were chanted.
