Ilham Aliyev congratulated Emomali Rahmon

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

As reported by AZERTAG, the message states:

"Dear Emomali Sharipovich,

On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I extend to you and through you to all your people heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the national holiday - Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan.

We are pleased with the successes achieved under your wise leadership in brotherly Tajikistan in the socio-economic sphere, and the growth of your country's international standing.

The current high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan stems from the deep respect and trust of our peoples for each other. It is gratifying that our interstate ties, which originate from this common will, are developing on an upward trajectory and have reached the level of strategic partnership.

Mutual understanding at the highest level creates favorable ground for expanding relations in various fields. I recall with the warmest impressions your participation in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in Khankendi in July this year, and our meeting with you.
