Hikmet Hajiyev: Azerbaijan attaches great importance to membership in D-8

Azerbaijan attaches great importance to its membership in the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation.

As Report informs, this was stated by Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev at the presentation of the strategy of the D-8 Media Excellence Center.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan is a full member of this organization.

"Azerbaijan attaches great importance to its membership in D-8. I thank the representatives of all D-8 countries for supporting this initiative. We hope that the organization's member countries will actively engage with the Media Excellence Center," H. Hajiyev said.

He expressed gratitude to all participants for supporting Azerbaijan's initiative and efforts to establish this institution under the President's leadership.

"Today, I am pleased to announce that with the unanimous support of all member countries, the D-8 Media Excellence Center has begun its full-fledged operations," H. Hajiyev noted.

The presidential assistant also expressed confidence that the Center will serve as a platform for interaction among journalists and media representatives from all D-8 member countries.

"We believe that trainings and cooperation in the media sphere, as well as valuable interaction between our media organizations, will be among the priorities," H. Hajiyev added.

According to him, other priority areas of the Center include combating disinformation, the application of artificial intelligence tools in media, and a number of others.
