We present the letter and its translation into Russian:

"Dear Hikmet Hajiyev,

An incorrect flag image and accompanying text relating to one of the regions of Azerbaijan were published on the Federal President's social media for a short time. As soon as the error was discovered, the relevant publication was immediately removed.

The post was published as a result of a technical error and has no significance within the framework of Germany's well-known position regarding the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

I am very distressed by the error that occurred and would like to offer my sincere apologies for the wrong impression that the above-mentioned publication made on some people in Azerbaijan.

The upcoming visit of the Federal President is intended to strengthen the Azerbaijani-German partnership and support the current peace process in the region."
