The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, received a delegation headed by the Second Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Turkish Republic, Army General Levent Ergün, who is on an official visit to our country to participate in the 17th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Turkish high-level military dialogue.

As BAKU.WS reports, this was announced by the Media and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

The delegation from brotherly Turkey visited the graves of national leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent scientist, ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa khanum Aliyeva at the Alley of Honor, as well as the Alley of Martyrs and the Memorial in honor of Turkish liberating soldiers, where wreaths and flowers were laid and their memory was honored.

As part of the visit, the Victory Park was also visited, and a wreath was laid at the monument in honor of the Victory.

Then a meeting with the Turkish delegation was held at the Ministry of Defense.

Colonel General Z. Hasanov noted that the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Turkey is based on friendship and brotherly relations, and emphasized the importance of measures implemented to further develop military cooperation. The importance of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States was especially emphasized.

In turn, Army General L. Ergün thanked Colonel General Z. Hasanov for organizing meetings in Baku within the framework of the 17th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Turkish high-level military dialogue, emphasizing that relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are based on mutual trust and support.

During the meeting, a comprehensive exchange of views was held on the prospects for cooperation between the two brotherly countries in military, military-technical and military-educational fields, as well as on issues of regional security and a number of other topics of mutual interest.
