Cybersecurity Agency to Take On Blocking of Illegal Bookmakers

The National Cybersecurity Agency of Azerbaijan will receive the authority to counter the activities of illegal foreign online lotteries and online betting on the country's territory.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this is stated in the Charter of the National Cybersecurity Agency, approved by a decree of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

According to the document, the agency is to ensure the implementation of measures provided for by legislation to prevent the organization and conduct of gambling through telecommunication services, as well as the organization and sale of tickets for participation in such games.

In addition, the NCA will ensure the implementation of measures to prevent citizens from participating in gambling conducted through telecommunication networks.

The agency will also ensure the blocking of access to the virtual environment of foreign lottery and sports betting operators, as well as their distributors.
