Azerbaijani man wanted on fraud charges detained in Germany
Elmir Nuriyev, who is on the international wanted list and suspected of fraud under the pretext of apartment renovations, is being extradited from Germany to Azerbaijan.
As reported to BAKU.WS by the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, the extradition agreement was reached after the office submitted a request to the Federal Office of Justice of Germany.
Azerbaijani citizen Elmir Nuriyev is suspected of committing fraud causing significant damage. The criminal case is being investigated by the Sumgayit City Police Department.
According to the investigation, Nuriyev posed as the head of a company and, by deceiving people and abusing their trust, made false promises to renovate their apartments. As a result, significant damage was caused to the victims.
Since Nuriyev fled from the investigation, he was placed on Interpol's international wanted list. Nuriyev's whereabouts were established on the territory of Germany, where he was detained.
Measures are currently being taken to transport him to Azerbaijan.
