Azerbaijan and Bahrain called for urgent de-escalation in the Middle East
Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani discussed the escalation of the situation in the Middle East and called for de-escalation.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in a press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan following the telephone conversation between the ministers.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the latest military escalation in the Middle East region, the growing security tensions, and the possible consequences of the developments.
The ministers expressed serious concern over the rapidly changing situation, emphasizing that a further increase in tensions could lead to undesirable consequences for regional stability and security.
The heads of the ministries stressed the need for urgent de-escalation measures and the importance of maintaining open diplomatic channels.
In addition, special attention was given to the need to comply with the norms and principles of international humanitarian law, as well as the protection of civilian populations and infrastructure.
