Azerbaijan, thanks to joint projects with Ukraine, will strengthen its position as a reliable energy supplier.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this statement was made by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, speaking at the 31st Baku Energy Forum.

"Ukraine has already become part of the updated European gas map, including the Trans-Balkan route, through which Caspian gas is capable of reaching energy-deficient regions of Europe. The first trial deliveries of Azerbaijani gas through this corridor have demonstrated that this concept is becoming a reality.

In addition, Ukraine possesses the largest underground gas storage facilities on the continent, with a total capacity of approximately 30 billion cubic meters. These facilities are capable of functioning as a regional seasonal buffer, serving as a shock absorber, and becoming an element of the new energy supply architecture," D. Shmyhal stated.

As the Ukrainian minister emphasized, such cooperation brings benefits to all participants.

"Azerbaijan will strengthen its reputation as a reliable supplier. Ukraine will reinforce its status as a key transit and service hub. And Europe will gain stable alternative energy sources," he added.
