Fuad Huseynaliyev: Media Bring the Peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Closer Together

The media of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, thanks to the dynamic development of cooperation, play an important role in deepening mutual understanding and further bringing the two fraternal peoples closer together.

As BAKU.WS reports with reference to Report, this was stated by the director of the Report news agency Fuad Huseynaliyev, speaking before students of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi (TUIT).

"There are various formats of cooperation and information exchange. We also exchange television series. As far as I know, one of the Azerbaijani series has already started being shown in Uzbekistan. In Azerbaijan, in turn, there is interest in Uzbek series. They are broadcast on our TV channels and are popular with viewers," Huseynaliyev said.

According to him, such exchanges allow residents of the two countries to get to know each other better, to become familiar with each other's culture, traditions, and everyday life.

The agency director also drew attention to the historical closeness of the Azerbaijani and Uzbek peoples.

"We are historically connected. In different eras, our peoples were part of the same state formations. Moreover, our roots go back to the same Turkic tribe - the Oghuz. That is why, when we speak our native languages without rushing too much, we understand each other quite well," he explained.

Huseynaliyev noted that linguistic closeness also contributes to strengthening mutual understanding between the two peoples.

He emphasized the importance of the state visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan on August 23-24 and the signing of the Treaty of Eternal Friendship.

"I believe that the Treaty of Eternal Friendship will not remain just a document on paper, as it has already received the support of our peoples. Our peoples are truly fraternal. We will continue to grow closer and together build a mutually beneficial and friendly future," the director of Report stated.

He also noted the growing interest of Azerbaijanis in Uzbekistan, including its historical and architectural monuments.

"Many of my acquaintances come to Uzbekistan to see your historical and architectural monuments and to learn more about the country's centuries-old history," Huseynaliyev added.
