President of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Mikail Jabbarov congratulated our wrestlers who showed high results at the U-23 European Championship in the Albanian capital Tirana.

The minister emphasized that freestyle wrestlers updated their records and became European champions in the team standings for the fourth time.
"At the U-23 European Championship in Tirana, our wrestlers won four gold, five silver, and seven bronze medals. The freestyle wrestling team updated their records and became European champions in the team standings for the fourth time.
Arseniy Dzhioev (86 kg) won gold, Jeyhun Allahverdiyev (61 kg), Kyanan Heybatov (70 kg), Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg), and Farid Jabbarov (79 kg) - silver, Rahman Imanov (57 kg), Murad Hagverdiyev (65 kg), Sadiq Mustafazade (92 kg), and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) - bronze.
The women's team, winning two gold and one bronze medal, once again became third in Europe in the team standings. Elnura Mamedova (53 kg) and Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) became European champions, and Asmer Jankurtaran (50 kg) - bronze medalist.
From the members of our Greco-Roman wrestling team, Ruslan Nurullayev (72 kg) won gold, Ziya Babashov (63 kg) - silver, Elmir Aliyev (55 kg) and Khasay Hasanli (77 kg) - bronze.
