Vaccination against influenza begins in Azerbaijan
The Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan has imported influenza vaccines into the country. The start of free vaccination is scheduled for October 21.
BAKU.WS was informed about this by the Ministry of Health.
It was noted that due to the cooling temperatures during the autumn-winter period, the risk of spreading acute respiratory viral infections, including seasonal influenza, increases.
In order to prevent their spread among the population, as well as to strengthen preventive measures, the Ministry has once again imported the necessary vaccines into the country this year.
According to the order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On strengthening anti-epidemic measures to combat acute respiratory diseases in the republic during the autumn-winter season of 2026–2027 and conducting an influenza vaccination campaign," the start of vaccination is scheduled for October 21, 2026.
Vaccination is especially recommended for individuals in high-risk groups for developing complications, particularly healthcare workers, pregnant women, as well as those suffering from chronic respiratory diseases.
The Ministry of Health urges the population to observe seasonal influenza prevention measures and actively participate in vaccination, which is one of the primary means of protection against the disease and its potential complications.
The vaccine can be obtained free of charge at public medical institutions providing outpatient and polyclinic care, at the place of residence or work of citizens.
