New subsidy mechanisms will be introduced in the tourism sector in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan has completed the preparation of a new edition of the Law "On Tourism," the need for which arose amid rapid changes in the country's tourism sector.
As Report informs, this was stated by the Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, Florian Sengstschmid, at the event "Unlocking Azerbaijan's Tourism Potential for Economic Growth and Diversification" in Baku.
According to him, despite the contribution of the Law "On Tourism," adopted in 2021, to the development of the sector, the need for its improvement has arisen at the current stage.
"Based on our assessment, taking into account the processes of the past year, updating the law has become a necessity. The draft is already prepared and awaits submission for discussion in the government," F. Sengstschmid emphasized.
The bureau chairman recalled that since 2018, consistent reforms have been implemented in Azerbaijan to create a competitive tourism ecosystem. Within the framework of these measures, a standardization system, star classification of hotels, guide certification mechanisms have already been introduced, and a Hotel Association has been established.
